The Lisbon AI Week kicks off today, running from November 1st to 9th, transforming Portugal's capital into a living laboratory of innovation. This nine-day marathon dedicated to entrepreneurs, tech leaders, and AI enthusiasts features over forty initiatives including conferences, workshops, hackathons, informal meetups, talks, and demos showcasing how artificial intelligence is shaping the present and projecting the future.
Partnering with Observador, the event begins this morning with Framer Connect Lisbon, a conference promoted by Framer Community Ambassadors at the EDIT.WORK space. This immersive conference celebrates creativity through design and programming, challenging designers, programmers, creatives, and AI enthusiasts to a day of inspiration, practical insights, and networking. Like most Lisbon AI Week events, it's free but requires prior registration.
What's There to See and Do?
For participants with deeper technical knowledge, there are hackathons and technical challenges like the FORGe AI Hackathon promoted by NOVAe (NOVA IMS entrepreneurship club). This 24-hour competition from November 7th-8th at Impact Hub Penha de França brings together university students interested in AI themes to work in teams of three to five people tackling real challenges with workshops, mentoring sessions, and lectures.
Immediately following, the Supabase Lisbon AI Hackathon runs from the morning of November 8th until 3:00 PM on November 9th at Kube Coworking Space, bringing together programmers and creators to develop AI solutions in record time. Registration requires approval from host Supabase.
Building a private AI assistant—a kind of personal 'Jarvis'—is another Lisbon AI Week proposal. The two-hour Build Your Jarvis workshop at IDEA Spaces Saldanha allows beginners without programming knowledge to create their personal AI assistant. This tool can automate daily tasks like sending emails, scheduling meetings, organizing notes, creating time-saving workflows, and integrating with other productivity solutions.

For video game lovers, the Game Development with Artificial Intelligence workshop promoted by Assembly technology school offers the opportunity to create intelligent NPCs (computer-controlled characters) using Unreal Engine 3D creation tool and AI. This event is scheduled for November 8th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The Lisbon AI Week program also includes talks, conferences, and book launches like Uncovering Algorithms by Natalia Domagala on November 6th, presented with a conversation about AI, work, and creativity at Well Read Lisbon. The same day, the Lisbon GenAI meetup brings together demos and discussions about monetization, forensic analysis, and AI at AIhub by Unicorn Factory Lisbon.
At the Epicenter of AI
This week attracting an ecosystem of programmers, creators, researchers, investors, and curious minds also brings to Lisbon speakers from companies like Amazon, GitLab, Cloudflare, PagerDuty, Hitachi, and ElevenLabs, technical communities like LisboaJS, PyData, PostHog, and Prisma, and startups appearing across various creative hubs in the capital at spaces like Unicorn Factory, Tribe, IADE, Casa do Impacto, and Kube Coworking.
There will be no shortage of relaxation moments with happy hours, dinners, and themed parties that help strengthen networking among participants, offering opportunities to learn, experiment, and share knowledge about the future of AI. Check out the complete program here.
