Madeira's Regional Government President, Miguel Albuquerque, avoided commenting on the ongoing controversy involving Eduardo Jesus when approached by journalists before the Corpus Christi Eucharist at Largo do Colégio. "We'll talk later. The mass is about to start," Albuquerque stated, indicating his reluctance to discuss the matter despite there being five minutes before the religious ceremony began.
The event was attended by various notable figures, and following the open-air mass, a procession through the city streets was scheduled. Albuquerque hinted that he would only address the press after these religious activities, postponing any clarifications regarding the controversy.
