Lisbon Welcomes the Medieval Fair of Marvila
From September 19 to 21, one of Lisbon's largest medieval events is back, promising to animate Marvila with sword fights, fire shows, horse tournaments, and more. This free-entry fair, held at the Parque Urbano Vale do Fundão, is a journey into Portugal's rich history.

In the summer, historical reenactments bring Portuguese secular history to life across the country, and Lisbon is no exception. The Feira Medieval de Marvila, promoted by the Marvila Parish Council, offers a unique cultural spectacle.
What to Expect at the Medieval Fair
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the fair, making it bigger and more innovative than ever. It's designed for all ages, with highlights including:
- Dance performances with snakes
- Medieval processions
- Sword fights and horse tournaments
- Street theater and circus arts
- Fire shows
- Children's games
- Falconry displays
- Food and craft stalls
Activities for the Young Ones
Special attention is given to children, with dedicated activities on September 19 from 10 AM to 12 PM. Kids can enjoy medieval games, raptor bird exhibitions, oriental dances, and interactive sessions to immerse them in the medieval era.
