The GNR reported a staggering 82 accidents between December 30 and January 5, resulting in one fatality, one serious injury, and 24 minor injuries. During this period, 68 individuals were arrested, with 23 for driving without a license, 20 for driving under the influence of alcohol, and six for drug trafficking.
In addition to the accidents, 135 doses of hashish, six doses of cocaine, and a switchblade were seized.
Traffic violations reached 771, with key infractions including:
- 80 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection
- 73 for speeding
- 38 related to lighting and signaling anomalies
- 27 for lack of civil liability insurance
- 14 for improper use of seat belts or child safety systems
- 12 for improper mobile phone use while driving.
