Art Meets Conservation in the Algarve
Until October 31, two unique textile artworks by the internationally recognized Algarve artist Vanessa Barragão will be on display at the W Algarve. These pieces, inspired by the underwater landscapes of the Algarve, are crafted from sustainable materials like wool waste, lyocel, jute (canvas), wire (structure), and brass (emblem).
Details of the Exhibition
The featured works, titled Sage and Bleached Coral, are available for viewing by hotel guests and visitors. Interested buyers will receive an artwork inspired by the exhibited pieces, with 12.5% of the sale price from Sage and 10% from Bleached Coral being donated to the AIMM - Associação para Investigação do Meio Marinho, a local marine research association dedicated to environmental preservation.
Artist's Inspiration and Message
Vanessa Barragão shared, "Since I was a child, I've felt the sea is my second home. Being at a hotel like W Algarve, located by the ocean and the Algarve beaches that marked my childhood, is a huge honor. I hope visitors and hotel guests enjoy this dive into my creativity and take the opportunity to support AIMM, which has a very special purpose."
Engagement and Sustainability Focus
Visitors and guests are invited to immerse themselves in Barragão's creative universe until the end of October, exploring her deep connection with nature. Sustainability and the protection of the marine ecosystem are core values for both the hotel and AIMM, making this collaboration a meaningful initiative for the community.
