Political Rallies Heat Up Across Portugal
Luís Montenegro, the Social Democratic Party (PSD) leader and Prime Minister, has five events scheduled today, starting in Cabeceiras de Basto and moving to Vieira do Minho. He will remain in the Minho region, having lunch in Amares, before heading south to Entroncamento in the Santarém district. Montenegro wraps up the day with a dinner in Caldas da Rainha.
Meanwhile, José Luís Carneiro, Secretary-General of the Socialist Party (PS), is also active in the Leiria district, specifically in Nazaré. This is the third of four planned events, taking him from Ovar with a stop in Espinho (Aveiro district) to Lisbon, where he will conclude his agenda at the "Viver Lisboa" coalition rally.
Key Coalition Events in Lisbon
At this same rally, leaders from Livre, Bloco de Esquerda (BE), and PAN will join, as the coalition led by socialist candidate Alexandra Leitão for the Lisbon municipality brings together these four parties. Earlier, Rui Tavares, spokesperson for Livre, will campaign with Marisa Matias of BE in Vila Nova de Gaia. Matias begins her day in Santo Tirso, while Tavares has an event in Porto before heading to the capital.
Inês Sousa Real, leader of PAN, will hold actions in Cascais prior to the "Viver Lisboa" coalition rally.
Other Party Movements
In contrast, André Ventura, president of Chega, starts the seventh day of the municipal campaign near the capital in Moita, then proceeds to Lisbon to visit the Chelas metro station. After lunch in Sintra, Ventura will be in Oeiras, ending the day in Torres Vedras.
Mariana Leitão, leader of the Iniciativa Liberal, has events planned exclusively in Leiria.
CDS-PP and PCP conclude their day in the north. Nuno Melo of CDS-PP visits Ponte de Lima in Viana do Castelo district and Torre de Moncorvo in Bragança, finishing his agenda in Porto, where Paulo Raimundo, Secretary-General of PCP, starts today's program. Raimundo then moves to Matosinhos in the Porto district and Viana do Castelo, closing with a rally in Guimarães.
