Lufthansa Technik is set to open a state-of-the-art engine and component repair facility in Santa Maria da Feira, Aveiro, marking a significant milestone in the company's history as it establishes its first operations in Portugal. This ambitious project is expected to create 700 jobs by the end of 2027.
The facility will be located on a 230,000-square-metre site in the Lusopark business park, with construction anticipated to begin in 2026. While the exact investment cost remains undisclosed, the company has expressed enthusiasm about the support received from the Portuguese Investment and Foreign Trade Agency (AICEP) and the local government.
Economy Minister Pedro Reis emphasized the importance of this investment, stating that it represents a crucial step towards the re-industrialization of Portugal, showcasing confidence in the country’s infrastructures and human capital, especially among its skilled aeronautical engineers and technicians. Interested candidates can apply for the new positions starting next year.
This development reflects a growing trend of industrial investment in Portugal, contributing to economic growth and job creation in the region.
