Pregnant Woman Was Under Care Since July
Umo Cani, the pregnant woman who tragically died after entering the Hospital Amadora-Sintra in cardiorespiratory arrest, had been receiving medical follow-up at the Agualva-Cacém Health Center. Her pregnancy was already being monitored by the Amadora-Sintra Local Health Unit (ULS), where she passed away on October 31.
Health Unit Admits Responsibility
The Local Health Unit has confirmed that Umo Cani was under their care since July and has taken responsibility for failing to provide accurate information to the Health Minister. This admission comes after family evidence contradicted the minister's earlier statements, highlighting significant communication failures within the healthcare system.
High-Risk Pregnancy Referral
Umo Cani had been referred to the hospital approximately two and a half months prior due to "high obstetric risk", underscoring the critical nature of her condition. Following her initial care at the health center, she attended two consultations at the Hospital Amadora-Sintra before her untimely death.
