Lisbon is set to become the global hub for architecture as it hosts the Archi Summit 2025 from July 9 to 11 at the Beato Innovation District. This event will bring together some of the most influential figures in architecture from around the world to discuss pressing contemporary issues and explore innovative solutions.
CHANGE is the central theme of this year's summit, emphasizing its role as a convergence point for practice, theory, and provocation. The official program features voices from four continents, curated by Joanna Helm and António Choupina, showcasing diversity and talent in contemporary architecture.
Highlighted speakers include Francesca Singer, Christoph Hesse, Gabriela Carrillo, and others, representing a generation of architects whose work speaks to the future, context, and responsibility. Their discussions will cover biotechnological city design, social housing activism, and the reinvention of scales and narratives.
Amanda Ferber and Martha Thorne will moderate the festival, bringing their extensive experience in architecture communication and education. Ferber, known as the 'architects' influencer,' and Thorne, dean of the IE School of Architecture and Design, will shape the dialogue around architecture's global impact.
The summit's agenda includes workshops and debate sessions on topics like 'Technology in Architecture' and 'New Construction Models.' These sessions aim to foster networking and learning among professionals. The event will conclude with discussions on 'Urban Strategy to Adapt Lisbon to Climate Change' and reflections on the past decade's architectural evolution.
Secil, the main sponsor, will highlight the connection between industrial innovation and architectural thought through an exhibition area featuring materials and solutions shaping the future. Additional partners will contribute to a comprehensive ecosystem intertwining architecture, engineering, urbanism, and culture.
