The municipal coalition agreement between PS and Livre in Sintra is set to be voted on this Friday afternoon by the political commission of the Federation of the Lisbon Urban Area (FAUL). This comes after the agreement was rejected by the Sintra municipal secretariat, leading the federation, led by MEP Carla Tavares, to step in and resolve the deadlock. The meeting was urgently convened on Wednesday.
Ana Mendes Godinho, the candidate, reportedly threatened to withdraw from the race after seeing the agreement with Livre rejected. The process has now been taken over by the federation's leadership, marking a critical moment in the local political landscape.
