Bus Fire Incident on A5
A bus carrying around 40 children, aged between 14 and 16, caught fire this Wednesday morning on the A5 highway, near the National Stadium at kilometer 7.5 in Oeiras.
The children were safely directed to a service area as a precautionary measure.
The alarm was raised at 12:50 PM, leading to a complete closure of the A5 in the direction of Lisbon-Cascais. Fortunately, according to the Lisbon Sub-Regional Command, no injuries have been reported. Firefighters, comprising 15 operational units, are currently engaged in combating the flames.
