From Digital to Physical: The Other Bottle's New Chapter
The Other Bottle began as an online store and is now set to open a physical location in Lisbon. This unique venture specializes in alcohol-free wines and is spearheaded by Jeremias Loock, who moved to Portugal for love.
The journey of alcohol-free wine dates back to the early 20th century, with Carl Jung pioneering the concept of enjoying wine without alcohol. Fast forward to today, and The Other Bottle has turned this concept into reality, launching its online store in 2021, right after the pandemic.
An Exciting New Location
Starting from December 12, the pop-up store will be located at Rua Marcos Portugal 18A, Lisbon, with plans for a permanent establishment in the coming months. The location was strategically chosen to cater to the existing online customer base in the area.
A Visionary Entrepreneur
Jeremias Loock, with a background in innovation and smart cities, recognized the potential in the non-alcoholic beverage market. Drawing from his experiences in Berlin, where social gatherings often revolve around alcoholic drinks, he felt a strong need for alternatives.
Quality Over Quantity
The store will feature a tasting room where customers can sample wines before purchasing. Loock emphasizes that quality is essential for non-alcoholic wines, which have often suffered from a lack of awareness and marketing.
Wide Selection
The Other Bottle offers a variety of wines, including white, red, rosé, and sparkling, starting at €4.50. They also sell Portugal's only non-alcoholic wine, the O%RIGINAL from José Maria da Fonseca, priced at €7.50. Additionally, the shop includes beers, ciders, and spirits like gin and rum.
Collaborations with Restaurants
Loock is also working to include non-alcoholic wines in restaurant menus, collaborating with notable establishments such as Encanto, a Michelin-starred restaurant by chef José Avillez.
