Immerse Yourself in the Art of Algarve
Luísa Aleixo, an artist from Praia do Carvoeiro, presents her painting exhibition titled 'Luz e Memória – A Poesia da Arquitetura Algarvia' (Light and Memory – The Poetry of Algarve Architecture). This showcase is open to the public at the Sala de Exposições Temporárias Manuel Gamboa, located in the Centro Cultural Convento de São José, and will run until October 31.
Through a series of oil paintings, the exhibition invites visitors to delve into the architectural soul of the Algarve. The artworks celebrate iconic elements such as churches, facades, intricate details, and traditional roofs that define the region's cultural heritage. Aleixo's pieces reflect an affectionate gaze on this heritage, transforming architectural forms into emotions and spaces into poetry.
Since 1981, Luísa Aleixo has dedicated herself to oil painting, drawing inspiration from the traditional architecture of the Algarve. Her work highlights how these structures contribute to the regional identity, making this exhibition a must-see for art and culture enthusiasts.
