Travel Cost Reduction for Madeirans and Azoreans
Madeirans and Azoreans will now enjoy a 10% reduction in travel costs to mainland Portugal, as reported by Observador.
Details Announced by Luís Montenegro
During the PSD Açores Congress, Luís Montenegro announced a significant change: the maximum fare for travel between the autonomous regions and the mainland will see a decrease. A round-trip ticket from Madeira to the mainland will now cost €77, down from the current €86. This adjustment means a saving of €9 for travelers.
Student Discounts
Students, who currently pay €65, will benefit as well, with new fares set at €58.5 for round trips (up to a maximum of €400).
Additional Savings on Inter-Island Travel
Montenegro also revealed that travel costs between the islands will see a 33% reduction, making it more affordable for residents to move within the archipelago.
