Summary:

  • German father of the child survivor from the Glória Elevator accident has been transferred to a hospital in Germany after his condition stabilized.

  • Only one person remains hospitalized from the nine injured in the accident, with their condition stable.

  • Initial misidentification by authorities led to the father being wrongly listed as a fatality; he was confused with a British victim.

  • The man was on the elevator with his three-year-old son and wife, who is still receiving treatment at Hospital de Santa Maria.

The German father of the three-year-old child who survived the accident on the Glória Elevator has been transferred to a hospital in his home country. This was confirmed by a source from the Unidade Local de Saúde de S. José, where the man had been hospitalized since the incident.

According to the hospital source, 'The injured person from the Glória Elevator accident, who was in the Intensive Care Unit at ULS São José and whose clinical condition has stabilized, was transferred to a healthcare unit in his country of origin (Germany).' The ULS S. José also reported that of the nine injured individuals received on the day of the accident, only one remains hospitalized, with their condition described as stable.

The man was on the Glória Elevator with his three-year-old son and his wife, who is currently hospitalized at Hospital de Santa Maria. Initially, the German citizen was mistakenly included among the fatalities by the PSP, with the Polícia Judiciária later reinforcing this count and alluding to a 'high probability' of a German fatality. However, it was later clarified that external signs, such as hair, led to the misidentification of a British national as the German citizen.
