Summary:

  • Ygor Daniel Zago, known as 'Hulk', was a top Brazilian drug trafficker involved in international cocaine trade and fuel adulteration schemes

  • He fled to Portugal in May using a fake Italian passport and hid in Cascais

  • His wife's movements were key to authorities tracking him down, leading to his arrest in a joint operation

  • The Judicial Police detained him and his wife, with an arrest warrant pending since June in Brazil

Ygor Daniel Zago, alias 'Hulk', one of Brazil's most dangerous drug traffickers with ties to international cocaine smuggling and a multi-million-dollar fuel adulteration business, chose Portugal as his hideout. He entered the country in May this year using a fake Italian passport from Peru and settled discreetly in Cascais. His escape ended this Saturday when the Judicial Police located and arrested him, along with his wife, in a joint operation with Brazilian authorities. A warrant for his arrest had been outstanding in Brazil since June.

For months, the only clue to 'Hulk's' whereabouts was the discreet itinerary of his wife. It was through her that Brazilian authorities concluded the trafficker had fled to Portugal.
