Lisbon is currently participating in the World Burger Tour, Hard Rock Cafe's annual competition where over 100 cafes worldwide compete with burgers inspired by local flavors. Until August 4, you can try the Portuguese creation, crafted by chef Miguel Santos of Hard Rock Cafe Lisbon, inspired by one of Portugal's most classic dishes: the bitoque.
The Bitoque Burger features a marinated beef patty with fresh tomato, red onion, pickles, melted flamengo cheese, a fried egg, cilantro, and watercress, served with fries seasoned with bitoque sauce. Priced at €21.25.
Chefs from various Hard Rock Cafes were challenged to create original burgers reflecting their regional cultures and personal tastes, available only at their respective locations. The top five recipes will be selected and announced this summer, then available worldwide for a limited time before the final winner is chosen.
Pair the juicy, flavorful, and unique Bitoque Burger with other menu items like Bangkok-style spicy shrimp (€13.25), hot fudge brownie (€9), and drinks like mango berry cooler (€5.95) or mango tango (€8.25).
