Two suspects remain in preventive detention while a third has been released, following their arrest by the Judicial Police (PJ) in connection with the violent unrest in Santo António dos Cavaleiros last month.

Details of the Case

On Thursday, the Loures Court decided to impose the most severe measure of coercion on two of the three detained individuals. They are facing charges of attempted murder, arson, and damage stemming from events that occurred on the night of October 24.

The PJ's statement highlighted:

"The incident involved an attack with incendiary devices that completely destroyed a Carris Metropolitana bus, endangering the life of its driver and causing him permanent injuries."

The investigations are ongoing, and it is notable that the suspects are aged between 21 and 23 years.
