Summary:

  • ULSLO suspends all non-essential medical activities to focus on emergency cases.

  • Only oncology consultations will be maintained amid the power outage.

  • Collaboration with other SNS hospitals is ongoing to manage urgent care.

Health Services Suspension

The Local Health Unit of Western Lisbon (ULSLO) has announced the suspension of scheduled activities, including consultations, surgeries, and examinations, starting this Tuesday. This decision comes in response to the need to ensure adequate resources for emergency patients and to expand hospitalization capacity.

Due to the recent power outage, only oncology consultations will continue as planned at ULSLO, which includes S. Francisco Xavier Hospital in Lisbon and Santa Cruz Hospital in Carnaxide, Oeiras. ULSLO is actively collaborating with other SNS hospitals to ensure that urgent and emergent patients receive the necessary care, particularly in the Intensive Care Units (ICU).
