Lisbon's cultural scene welcomes a new addition with the opening of Livraria Lisboa Cultura in the heart of Baixa Pombalina. Nestled between the iconic Tabacaria Mónaco and Café Nicola, this municipal project aims to highlight "the importance of books in the city's cultural policy."
Developed in collaboration between the Municipal Directorate of Culture of the Lisbon City Council and the municipal company Lisboa Cultura/EGEAC, the bookstore is envisioned as "an anchor for knowledge and discovery of the city, amplifying Lisbon's profile."
Featuring a catalog of over 1,500 titles, either published or co-published by the municipality, the offerings cover a wide range of themes, all centered around Lisbon. In addition to municipal titles, the bookstore will also feature works from various publishers, all focusing on the city.
Beyond books, Livraria Lisboa Cultura will host a regular program of talks, presentations, and other activities aimed at promoting the city's culture. The inauguration day includes a discussion about the bookstore's catalog (starting at 6 PM) and a guided walk titled Rossio Literário, highlighting literary references of one of the city's most noble squares (at 4 PM).
The Livraria Lisboa Cultura is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, between 10 AM and 7 PM.
