Summary:

  • Two luxury watches stolen from the Ritz Hotel in Lisbon were found in Eduardo VII Park

  • A citizen discovered the watches and contacted the PSP, which then handed them over to the Judicial Police (PJ)

  • Scooters used in the robbery were previously recovered in the same park

  • The PJ is investigating a possible link between the lost watches and the robbery

  • The robbery involved four armed assailants who escaped on scooters

A citizen discovered two luxury watches stolen from the jewelry stores of the Ritz Hotel in Lisbon, initially reported by 'Público'. The items were found in Eduardo VII Park on Saturday afternoon. The individual contacted the PSP via 112 at 1:50 PM, arranging the handover of the watches. The PSP acted as an intermediary to deliver them to the Judicial Police (PJ), which is investigating the robberies.

This discovery follows the recovery of two scooters used by the four robbers as escape vehicles during Friday's heist, found in the same location. The PJ is now investigating a possible connection between the two incidents, considering the possibility that the robbers might have inadvertently lost the watches during their escape.

The robbery at the Ritz Hotel's jewelry stores occurred on Friday, with the assailants armed and making a swift getaway on scooters. The recovery of both the scooters and the luxury watches marks a significant development in the case, as authorities piece together the events of the daring daylight robbery.
