Storm Depression Bert Approaches Portugal
The north and center of mainland Portugal are bracing for the impact of a cold frontal surface associated with Depression Bert, as announced by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA). This weather system is expected to hit between Sunday and Monday.

Starting Saturday, the IPMA warns of an increase in maritime agitation, with wave heights expected to reach between 2 and 3.5 meters, escalating to 3 to 4.5 meters by Sunday.
The cold front will cross the country late Sunday into Monday morning, leading to a significant increase in wind intensity. Gusts could reach 70 to 80 kilometers per hour along the north and central coasts, and up to 90 to 100 kilometers per hour in higher altitudes.
Heavy rainfall is anticipated from Sunday afternoon to Monday morning, particularly affecting the Minho region and mountainous areas. The IPMA advises everyone to keep a close watch on the evolving weather situation and heed any warnings issued.
