Two earthquakes were recorded in the early hours of Wednesday in Silves, Algarve, as reported by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
The first quake occurred at 03:11 AM, registering a magnitude of 2.7 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter located approximately 25 km northeast of Silves.
Just a minute later, at 03:12 AM, a second tremor was detected, measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale, also with the same epicenter.
As of now, the IPMA has not received any reports confirming that these earthquakes were felt by residents in the area. The Institute has stated that they will issue further updates should the situation require it.
