Beaches Remain Closed
The beaches of Cabanas Velhas and Boca do Rio in Vila do Bispo, Algarve, continue to be closed. As of this Monday, new cleaning operations have been conducted to collect the crude oil that has washed ashore.
Ongoing Investigation
The commander Bravo da Guia from the Port of Lagos stated that the source of the oil spill is still unknown. He emphasized that the current focus is on cleaning the beaches.
The regional health delegate and the Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente are set to meet to determine the next steps in response to this environmental incident.
