A group of 20 Brazilian artisans and company representatives is set to arrive in Lisbon next week for a business mission. This marks the seventh edition of the "Export Journey" program, organized by ApexBrasil in collaboration with Sebrae.
The event will be the first to take place at Apex's new office in Lisbon. Participants will engage in a packed schedule including market prospecting, training sessions, and meetings with European international buyers.
The program kicks off on Monday, June 30, with a technical seminar at ApexBrasil's Portugal office, starting at 9:00 AM. The seminar will feature various guests and will be inaugurated by representatives of the organizing institutions.
The Lisbon agenda also includes guided tours to retail points and design spaces in the city, a visit to the International Crafts Fair (FIA Lisbon) - one of the largest in Europe - and business rounds with buyers from Portugal, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Ireland. According to Apex, these meetings aim to strengthen commercial ties between Brazil and Europe, leveraging cultural and linguistic affinities with the Portuguese market.
Clarissa Furtado, ApexBrasil's Competitiveness Manager, highlighted the strategic opportunity the Export Journey program offers for Brazilian micro and small businesses to understand international market demands, adapt their products with qualified technical guidance, and start developing business. "For the crafts sector, it's also a chance to valorize Brazilian culture in its most authentic expression," she added.
Lisbon is seen as a strategic market for Brazilian crafts, thanks to the solid cultural relations between the two countries and the presence of a strong Brazilian community. Participants will also be featured on the "Buy Brazil" platform, connecting Brazilian companies with foreign buyers. Apex expects the mission to foster short and medium-term business and enhance the image of Brazilian craftsmanship as innovative, sustainable, and economically relevant.
The mission coincides with the celebration of 200 years of diplomatic relations between Brazil and Portugal, reinforcing historical and economic ties. Portugal, ranked as the 23rd main destination for Brazilian exports in 2024, saw trade volumes reaching $3.4 billion in exports from Brazil and $1.2 billion in imports.
