Seven locations in the Algarve have made it to the top 10 highest temperatures recorded on the last day of the year. According to data from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), Aljezur topped the list with a maximum temperature of 19.7 degrees Celsius on December 31st.
Following closely, Loulé registered 19.1 degrees, and Castro Marim came in third with 18.4 degrees. Other Algarve towns making the top 10 include Vila Real de Santo António and Portimão at 18.1 degrees, and Sagres and Olhão at 17.3 degrees.
