Highest Paying Degrees in Portugal

A recent study by the Center for Planning and Evaluation of Public Policies (Planapp) reveals that Information Technology, Mathematics, Health, and Law are the most valued degrees in the Portuguese job market. In 2021, these fields offered a salary premium exceeding 50% compared to other degrees.

However, there's been a notable decline in the overall salary premium associated with having a degree, which has dropped from 47% in 2010 to 40% in 2021. This shift indicates changing dynamics in the labor market, where degrees in Architecture, Agriculture, and Security Services remain the least valued.

This study sheds light on the evolving landscape of higher education and its direct correlation with employment opportunities and salary potential in Portugal.
