Lisbon reinforces its reputation as a coastal destination of excellence, combining a mild climate, safety, hospitality, diverse cultural offerings, strong technological infrastructure, and a competitive residential market. Meanwhile, the Algarve stands out for its cost-effective accessibility and appealing climate, which continue to attract mobile professionals.

Dubai Leads the Pack

The 2025 ranking is topped by Dubai, holding the first position for the third consecutive year, followed by Abu Dhabi. The top 5 is completed by Málaga (3rd), Miami (4th), and Lisbon (5th). Other European coastal cities, such as Palma de Mallorca (6th) and Barcelona (7th), maintain a strong presence.

New entries this year include destinations like Auckland (9th), Tokyo (11th), Crete (15th), Vancouver (18th), and Berlin (28th), reflecting the increasing global competition to attract digital nomads.

According to Andrew Cummings, Head of Residential Agency, Middle East at Savills, the United Arab Emirates continue to excel due to air connectivity, high-speed internet, and excellent services. Kelcie Sellers, Associate Director of Savills World Research, notes that the global landscape is changing, with new countries developing strategies to attract digital nomads, even without specific visas, as seen in Canada and New Zealand.
