The Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML) has opened a public consultation for the revision of its Sub-regional Action Program, a key tool of the Integrated Rural Fire Management System (SGIFR), until September 22.
This revision aims to enhance the effectiveness of rural fire prevention and combat measures, fostering an integrated and participatory approach to land management within the AML.
The action program outlines seven priority intervention and prevention areas, including various goals and twelve key projects for the region. These areas are located in significant natural reserves such as the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, Serra da Carregueira, and the Arrábida Natural Park, among others.
These zones are identified based on the rural fire hazard map developed by the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests.
Contributions should be sent to the AML within 30 days from the publication date of the notice, via email.
For more details and to access the documents under public consultation, visit AML's website.
The documents are also available for review at the AML headquarters in Lisbon, on weekdays from 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:30 to 16:30.
