The Maritime Police made a significant move this Friday afternoon by seizing 760 kilograms of Japanese clams during an operation aimed at curbing illegal shellfish harvesting and trade in Parque das Nações, Lisbon. During the operation conducted by the local Maritime Police command of Lisbon, authorities also confiscated a vehicle used in the illegal activity. According to a statement released on social media, "an individual was identified in the act of buying and transporting bivalves," which prompted the police to document the incident and seize the clams along with the vehicle.

In a noteworthy move, the live clams were returned to their natural habitat, emphasizing the commitment to marine conservation and environmental protection.
