Irene Rolo Foundation Kicks Off 'Live Your Difference' Tour
The Irene Rolo Foundation has officially launched the 'Live Your Difference' tour, a symbolic and itinerant initiative that promotes the valorization of differences, inclusion, and sharing among social institutions across the country.
The first stop of the tour took place at the Casa do Povo do Concelho de Olhão – Moncarapacho, where the foundation's team was warmly welcomed by users and professionals of the institution. This initial meeting marked the official start of a collective journey that invites each participating entity to leave its mark through the itinerant backpack 'Live Your Difference'—a symbol of unity that will carry small objects with emotional significance, created by people with disabilities from each organization, from north to south of Portugal.
Tour Phases and Schedule
The first phase of the 'Live Your Difference' tour is set in the Algarve, running from October to December 2025, and involves Algarve entities that participated in the homonymous festival held in Tavira in April of this year. After this regional stage, the initiative will proceed on a national tour, passing through all districts of the country until August 2026, culminating in a symbolic closing ceremony with a national official reference entity.
Activities and Impact
During its stay at each institution, the itinerant backpack will serve as a starting point for moments of sharing, artistic expression, and reflection on the importance of diversity. This reinforces the role of the social sector in building a more inclusive, supportive, and aware society.
Social Media Engagement
Participating institutions are encouraged to share their experiences on social media and the initiative's Facebook page using the hashtags #roteirodeinclusão, #viveatuadiferença, #inclusão, and #diversidade, helping to amplify the message of valuing differences that gives the initiative its name.
