Salvador Sobral to Host Charity Concert for Palestine

Portuguese singer Salvador Sobral is set to perform a charity concert in support of Palestine this February in Lisbon, specifically at the B.Leza club. The event is scheduled for February 6.

Tickets for the concert are priced as a conscious donation starting at fifteen euros, allowing attendees to contribute more if they wish. The proceeds from this concert will benefit the Collective for the Liberation of Palestine, enabling them to continue organizing events and actions that support the struggle for a free Palestine. Additionally, funds will be used to send money to Palestinian mutual aid networks and to bring more Palestinian voices and culture to Portugal.

It's important to note that tickets will not have physical or digital forms; entry will be based on a confirmed reservation list at the door. Interested participants can access a reservation link on the B.Leza club's social media pages.

Context of the Current Situation

The concert comes amid a significant crisis in the Middle East, which has seen a tragic loss of life, particularly in Gaza, due to recent conflicts that began with a Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. This incident resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and more than two hundred hostages. In response, Israel launched a large-scale offensive in Gaza, leading to over 47,000 fatalities, mostly among civilians, and creating a humanitarian disaster in the region.
