Recent inspections in Grândola's coastal areas between Tróia and Melides have revealed that seven beaches are experiencing restricted access due to tourism developments. The Ministry of Environment and Energy, led by Maria da Graça Carvalho, announced the findings, highlighting that while most areas comply with the law, some irregularities were detected.
José Pimenta Machado, president of the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), outlined measures being implemented to ensure public and accessible beach access. These steps aim to address the challenges posed by ongoing or planned tourism projects near these beloved coastal spots.
The situation underscores the balance between development and preserving public access to natural treasures. As Grândola continues to attract visitors, the focus remains on safeguarding the rights of all to enjoy Portugal's stunning beaches.
