PJ Arrests Suspect for Sexual Abuse of Minor Stepdaughter and Rape of Teenager in Peniche
A 47-year-old foreign national has been detained by the Judicial Police (PJ) on suspicion of child sexual abuse and two counts of rape in Peniche. One of the victims, a 13-year-old girl, is the suspect's stepdaughter. According to the PJ's statement, she had been subjected to sexual acts in her own home since the age of ten.
The other victim, a 14-year-old girl, was raped twice in a house belonging to friends of the suspect. The man had a key to the property to check the mail and also performed "maintenance" activities there, authorities revealed. The complaint was filed on October 24.
The suspect is legally residing in Portugal, as stated in the PJ's communication.
Legal Measures Imposed
The detained individual was presented to the authorities for his first judicial interrogation and has been prohibited from contacting the victims. He must also leave the house where he lives and report twice a week to the GNR post in Peniche.
