Young Man Shot in Lisbon's Lumiar Neighborhood
A 22-year-old man was shot in the abdomen on Friday night on Rua Cordeiro Ferreira in the Lumiar area of Lisbon. The incident is being investigated as a possible attempted robbery.
Emergency Response and Witness Accounts
Police sources confirmed to CM that the alert was issued around 8:10 PM on Friday. Multiple PSP patrols responded to the scene, along with an INEM emergency medical team.
Teresa Coelho, a doctor living in the area, told CM she "heard a loud noise that she later realized was a gunshot." She added, "I went to the scene, and the young man was conscious but in severe pain. A friend was nearby who I believe witnessed everything. I just applied pressure to the wound." Teresa Coelho explained she heard people saying that "a man got out of a white van and fired the shot."
Medical Condition and Investigation
The 22-year-old victim was treated by INEM technicians and transported in serious condition to Hospital de Santa Maria.
Despite extensive efforts in the area, PSP did not locate any suspects involved in the attack.
Since the incident involved a firearm, the investigation has been transferred to the Polícia Judiciária.
CM has learned that inspectors collected several statements at the scene and are now working to confirm the robbery attempt theory.
