Lisbon Protest Demands Social Justice: 'Don't Throw Burkas Over Our Eyes'

Approximately one hundred protesters gathered this Saturday at 3:30 PM in Rossio Square, Lisbon, demanding dignified housing, secure employment, and denouncing social injustices, sexual violence, and political repression.

The demonstration, under the slogan "Don't Throw Burkas Over Our Eyes", was organized by historian Raquel Varela through social media. This mobilization came in response to the approval of a bill by the Chega party that proposes banning the use of burkas in public spaces.
