Algarve's beaches see fewer tourists due to strong winds and overcast skies, a change brought by a depression moving from the Azores anticyclone. Despite some attempts by visitors to enjoy the beach under umbrellas at Praia de Faro, the wind and cloudy conditions forced a change in plans. This scenario was mirrored across mainland Portugal, with meteorologist Ângela Lourenço from IPMA predicting continued cloudiness and possible rainfall in the northern and central coastal areas.
However, the start of the week brings warmer temperatures nationwide, offering hope for holidaymakers. The south, particularly, will see temperatures rising above 30 degrees by Wednesday and Thursday, with Alcoutim expected to hit 40 degrees on Thursday. Meanwhile, the sea temperature along the Algarve coast will remain pleasant, between 24 and 26 degrees.
