New Funding Opportunities for Fisheries Sector
The Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) has announced that new application notices are now open under the 'MAR 2030' Programme, aimed at strengthening the competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience of the fisheries and aquaculture sector in the region.
These notices, with a total national allocation of €14.4 million, are designed to enhance the sector's performance across Portugal, including the Algarve region.

Support for Knowledge Transfer Between Scientists and Fishermen
This €300,000 funding aims to promote cooperation between the scientific community and the fisheries sector through partnerships that stimulate productive and organizational innovation. It seeks to deepen applied scientific knowledge in fisheries and strengthen operator involvement in participatory and responsible maritime space management. Applications are open until November 10 at 6:00 PM.
Actions for Internationalization of Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Fish Processing and Marketing
With €1.5 million available, this funding supports certification and commercial promotion initiatives for fisheries, aquaculture, and processing products. It encourages internationalization of companies and reduces import dependency, directly impacting sector resilience and competitiveness. Applications close on October 31 at 6:00 PM.
Transformation of Fisheries and Aquaculture Products – Productive Investments
This €3 million funding, open until October 31 at 6:00 PM, aims to promote food security and added value in the transformation of fisheries and aquaculture products. It supports productive investments that help modernize processing units and enhance the final product.
Support for Investments in Fishing Ports, Landing Sites, Fish Markets, and Shelters
With the largest allocation of €9.6 million, this funding is available until December 15. It focuses on improving safety and operational conditions in fishing ports by providing adequate infrastructure and ice production capacity. This notice supports critical interventions for the modernization and efficiency of port infrastructure.
