Hyundai Motorsport is setting its sights on a strong performance at the Rally Portugal, following a challenging outing at the Rally Islas Canarias. The team, including world champion Thierry Neuville and new recruit Adrien Fourmaux, is optimistic about their chances on gravel, despite recent struggles on Tarmac.

Challenges and Optimism

The team faced significant setbacks in the Canaries, attributed to issues with the car's differential and dampers. However, Neuville remains confident, stating, "On gravel I’m not so much concerned, to be honest." Fourmaux echoed this sentiment but emphasized the need for improvements to tackle similar challenges in future rallies.

Targeting Toyota

Both drivers have openly discussed the need to outperform Toyota, the current leaders in the manufacturers' championship. Neuville highlighted the importance of beating Toyota's drivers, Elfyn Evans and Kalle Rovanperä, to close the gap in the standings. Fourmaux added, "As a team we need to stop the domination of Toyota and get a really good result with all three cars."
