Jorge Palma has announced the cancellation of his upcoming concerts in Lisbon and Oliveira do Hospital, scheduled for this month, due to health concerns. The musician shared the news on his social media pages, expressing his disappointment but emphasizing the need for recovery.
Health Concerns Lead to Cancellation
Palma revealed that he underwent a planned surgery at the end of June, which went well. Despite feeling strong and eager to return to the stage, his doctors advised him to take more time to recover. The concerts, including '3 palmas na mão' with his sons at Teatro Maria Matos in Lisbon and a solo performance at EXPOH in Oliveira do Hospital, will not proceed as scheduled.
Refunds and Future Plans
Fans who purchased tickets for the Lisbon shows can request refunds starting this Friday at the point of purchase. Palma and his team are also working on a way to compensate those who had tickets, offering special conditions for the next presentation of the project in Lisbon. For the Oliveira do Hospital show, Palma hopes to return for the next edition of the event.
A Tribute to National Health Service
In his announcement, Palma highlighted the importance of the National Health Service, thanking everyone involved in his care. The musician, known for hits like 'Bairro do Amor', is looking forward to resuming his performances in the second half of August.
About '3 palmas na mão'
The show, which features Palma alongside his sons Vicente Palma and Francisco Palma, includes a mix of his original songs and covers that hold personal significance to the family. The project, initially a WhatsApp group name, evolved into a song and then a concert series, showcasing Palma's enduring talent and familial bonds.
