Shocking Discovery in Lisbon
A 25-year-old man, who held a legitimate job in the services sector, was caught in the act by the PSP (Public Security Police) while selling drugs to two consumers in the Penha de França area of Lisbon. The arrest occurred on September 13, 2025, leading to a significant bust that uncovered a hidden drug operation.
Elaborate Drug Supermarket Uncovered
After apprehending the suspect and seizing drugs and money on the street, police conducted a home search. They dismantled what was described as a 'true drug supermarket', where even 'space cakes'—cakes made with cannabis, illegal for sale in Portugal—were confiscated. This operation revealed the suspect's dual life, as he had never been detained or charged in any previous process.
Seizures and Evidence
During the search, authorities seized approximately 3 kilograms of hashish and marijuana, along with 5,415 doses of ecstasy, 400 grams of an undetermined substance, 21 bags of hallucinogenic pills, and various drug cutting and packaging materials. The dealer also maintained detailed notebooks listing client names and financial transactions related to the illicit business, as well as computer equipment.
Surprising Arsenal of Weapons
Another startling aspect was the discovery of an arsenal of weapons, including two firearms prohibited for civilians, six replicas, 104 rounds of ammunition in various calibers, and a diving knife. This added a dangerous dimension to the case, highlighting the suspect's preparedness for potential conflicts.
Legal Consequences
With overwhelming evidence presented by the PSP, the criminal investigation judge did not hesitate to impose preventive detention on the suspect. He remains in custody as the investigation continues, underscoring the seriousness of the charges and the effectiveness of the police operation.
