Four individuals were hospitalized after inhaling smoke caused by a machinery malfunction in a building on Rua Castilho, Lisbon. The incident, which occurred this Friday, led to the evacuation of the building's garages as the area became contaminated with smoke.
Emergency response was swift, with the alert being raised at 13:21. Eight vehicles and 26 firefighters from the Lisbon Fire Department were dispatched to the scene to manage the situation and assist those affected.
The cause of the incident remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing to determine what led to the machinery malfunction and subsequent smoke emission.
