The MURO_LX – Lisbon Urban Art Festival is back for its 6th edition this month, with a program deeply inspired by Water. This year's festival will spotlight the neighborhoods around the Aqueduto das Águas Livres, including Bairro da Bela Flor and Bairro da Liberdade, alongside key water-related structures in the city like the Museu da Água and the Fábrica da Água.

Presented at the Fábrica da Água, the festival boasts a rich lineup featuring national and international artists, both Lisbon residents and visitors. Attendees can look forward to:

Featured Artists
This edition brings together a diverse group of talents, including Bigod, Cab, Eko, Fled, Greb, Hesp, Hibashira, Monk, Mosaik, Nevercrew (Christian Rebecchi and Pablo Togni), Obey SKTR, Patrícia Mariano, Ricardo Romero, Smile, Tosco, and Typru.
Opening Highlights
The festival kicks off on May 23rd with the inauguration of João Murta's exhibition, "Marginalis", at the Fábrica da Água. This exhibition invites visitors to reflect on societal and environmental issues through the metaphor of ocean waves. The same venue will screen "Bomb it", a 2007 documentary on graffiti and urban art by John Reiss.

- "Da nossa costa" by Teresa Calado: A showcase of illustrations depicting Portuguese maritime fish varieties.
- "Há art no esgoto" by Gilberto Gaspar: A creative revamp of sewer covers.
- "Por cima do tapete, o meu quarto": An exhibition at Coruchéus – Um Teatro em Cada Bairro since April 12th.
- A display of skateboards painted by participants of the Juntas Hacemos Más international female graffiti festival at Liberdade Atlético Clube.
Guided Tours and More
Throughout the festival, guided tours will be available for the various exhibitions. The event concludes on May 31st, with the full program accessible online.
Festival Legacy
Since its inception in 2016 in Carnide, MURO_LX has graced neighborhoods like Marvila, Lumiar, and Parque das Nações, featuring artists such as Kobra, D*Face, Bordalo II, and Odeith. The 5th edition took place in Cais do Sodré, Alcântara, and Belém in October 2023.
