Nininho Vaz Maia's Legal Troubles Continue
Nininho Vaz Maia, one of the most popular pop singers in Portugal, is currently under investigation by the Judicial Police (PJ) following allegations of drug trafficking. This morning, a significant operation was carried out by the National Unit for Combating Drug Trafficking.
The singer, who recently sold out the MEO Arena with two performances and has appeared as a contestant on various musical talent shows, is now facing serious legal issues. At 37 years old, Nininho, whose real name is Avelino Vaz Maia, has a history of legal problems, including a period of house arrest 12 years ago due to involvement in a brawl.
Police Operation Details
According to CNN Portugal, the operation led to the arrest of three individuals, while the police were seen entering Nininho's residence around 07:00 AM in search of drugs. Although the singer remains at liberty, several searches are ongoing in both Lisbon and the South Bank of the Tagus, including inspections at automotive workshops.
Past Controversies
Nininho's past is marked by legal issues, and a viral video showing him singing and playing guitar while wearing an electronic ankle bracelet helped propel his career in the music industry. His unique blend of pop and flamenco music has garnered him significant fame, but these recent allegations could tarnish his reputation further.
