The fire in Arouca, in the Aveiro district, was the one mobilizing the most firefighters, with 567 operatives on the ground, supported by 178 vehicles, according to Civil Protection data at 7:29 am.
In Ponte da Barca, in the Viana do Castelo district, a fire that started last Saturday continues to rage. By 7:30 am, 377 firefighters were on the scene, supported by 126 ground vehicles.
And in Penamacor, in the Castelo Branco district, 394 firefighters with 139 ground vehicles are combating the flames.
Meanwhile, in Mangualde, Viseu district, a fire that has been raging since dawn in Tabosa mobilized, at 7:00 am, 157 operatives and 42 vehicles, said Mangualde fire commander Márcio Teles to Lusa, adding that an aerial means was requested.
For this Tuesday, almost all municipalities in the north, center, and Algarve regions are at maximum or very high danger of rural fire, according to data from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere.
High temperatures are expected to continue in the coming days, with all of mainland Portugal under a yellow warning except for Faro.
Setúbal is expected to be the hottest city on the mainland this Tuesday, with a forecast maximum temperature of 40 degrees, followed by Lisbon and Santarém with 39 degrees.
The yellow warning, the least severe, is issued when there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the meteorological situation.
