Singer Adelaide Ferreira has been announced as the Alternative Democratic National (ADN) party's candidate for the presidency of the Lisbon City Council. The party revealed that Ferreira fully shares its values and is determined to "return Lisbon to the Lisboetas" and end the political, social, and identity degradation of the capital.
Among the central measures of Ferreira's program for Lisbon are five commitments that mark a clear break with political correctness and entrenched interests. These include:
- Revoking all useless and/or harmful cycle paths to urban traffic.
- Abolishing EMEL and ending parking fees for residents.
- Prioritizing access to municipal housing for Portuguese citizens.
- Eradicating begging and abusive occupation of public space by the homeless, with effective and firm social reintegration policies.
- Zero tolerance for crime, vandalism, and insecurity, with a reinforcement of municipal authority.
The ADN highlighted that Ferreira is anti-globalist, defending national sovereignty and Portuguese culture against the interests of international elites, and firmly rejects "wokism", political correctness censorship, and ideological revisionism threatening society's foundations.
Ferreira aims for a Lisbon with a Portuguese face, where families, neighborhoods, and traditions are once again at the center of governance. She joins other candidates including Alexandra Leitão (PS/Livre/BE/PAN), Carlos Moedas (PSD/CDS-PP/IL), João Ferreira (CDU), Ossanda Líber (Nova Direita), Bruno Mascarenhas (Chega), and José Almeida (Volt) in the upcoming local elections on October 12.
