Mother of Actress Sofia Ribeiro Found Living on the Streets
Salomé, Sofia Ribeiro's mother, has reportedly been living on the streets in the Avenida Almirante Reis area of Lisbon. She was seen on April 15, and the alarming news came from a former neighbor who stated that the 74-year-old woman was found “crying and asking for help.”
The neighbor also mentioned that Salomé and Sofia had a falling out about two years ago, adding that Salomé appeared to be psychologically disoriented.
Financial Assistance Issues
Another source revealed to the same publication that there are no financial means available to assist Sofia's mother, and pointed out that Sofia Ribeiro is legally obligated to provide help. “She could die,” the source warned, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
Sofia Ribeiro's Response
Responding to the news on April 17, Sofia Ribeiro clarified that her mother had disappeared from her home in January and that she has been trying to get help from the courts since then. “I have not heard from her since,” she told Flash, emphasizing that this is a matter of mental health.
Turbulent Relationship History
The relationship between Sofia and her mother has seen its share of ups and downs. In 2020, Sofia removed her mother from a house in Montijo, where she was living with her younger sister, Tânia, after reports of inappropriate behavior. However, in 2024, Sofia stated that their relationship had stabilized despite their differences.
