A Weekend of Cape Verdean Culture Awaits!
Join us at the Palácio Pimenta this Saturday, May 3rd, starting at 11:00 AM for the Morabeza Lx Festival! This exciting event promises a day filled with music, gastronomy, literature, and cinema, all celebrating the rich culture of Cape Verde.

The festival aims to break down the invisible barriers of municipal neighborhoods and showcase the incredible talent of the youth within these communities. According to Nuno Varela, one of the event organizers, it’s all about showcasing what young people can achieve.
Schedule of Events:
- 11:30 AM: Reading of Stórias di Cabo Verde by Vera Furtado.
- 12:30 PM: Traditional crafts workshop with Artempalha.
- 1:30 PM: The Midjor Katxupa di Lisboa Contest will serve up delicious local dishes, including feijão pedra and pastel de peixe.
- 2:45 PM: Performance by Batucadeiras Vitória Pila Cana from Ajuda.
- 3:00 PM: Screening of the film Manga d'Terra, directed by Basil da Cunha, highlighting solidarity among women in the Reboleira neighborhood.
- 4:00 PM Onwards: Enjoy conversations and music ranging from morna to funaná.
- 6:30 PM: Concert by Jovino Varela.
- 7:45 PM: Performance by Tito Paris featuring Joana Amendoeira.
Throughout the day, there will also be a Creole market showcasing local crafts and flavors.
