TAP Flight Grounded After Strong Oil Odor Detected
A TAP Air Portugal flight preparing to depart from São Paulo to Lisbon was forced to abort takeoff after crew and passengers reported an intense oil smell inside the aircraft cabin.
The incident involved flight D. Maria II, which was scheduled to operate the route from Brazil to Portugal. Approximately 300 passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft following the emergency procedure.
Passengers Left Waiting Without Clear Instructions
According to passengers contacted by CM newspaper, there was no TAP staff present at the airport to provide guidance or updates about the situation. Travelers reported being left waiting without information about when they might be able to continue their journey to Lisbon.
No timeline has been provided for when the affected passengers will be able to resume their travel plans. The airline has yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the oil smell or the expected resolution time.
