A Heartbreaking Event in Ponte de Lima
A four-year-old boy tragically passed away this Friday afternoon at a kindergarten in Sandiães, located in the municipality of Ponte de Lima, district of Viana do Castelo. The alert was received at 1:45 PM regarding a child experiencing airway obstruction.
Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene, including Ponte de Lima firefighters, the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) from Viana do Castelo, the Immediate Life Support ambulance (SIV) from Ponte de Lima, and members of the GNR.
Despite their efforts, the child went into cardiac arrest, and unfortunately, the situation could not be reversed. The death was declared at the scene. Additionally, a Mobile Unit for Psychological Emergency Intervention (UMIPE) was dispatched to the location to provide support.
